Comments: Clench & Abbott (1942: 4) validated Pfeiffer's misuse of nodulosus Gmelin, 1791 by naming it type species of Tectininus (ICZN Article 67.13.1). Trochus nodulosus Gmelin, 1791 (non Solander, 1766) is an Indo-Pacific species, Nodilittorina pyramidalis (Quoy & Gaimard, 1833).
