Comments: 26°N in Florida. Records of Macsotay & Campos (2001) from Isla Margarita and Sucre, Venezula need confirmation, their illustrated specimens is misidentified.

Comments: Misidentification. Sowerby I (1822, pl. 248, fig. 7) used the name Columbella nitidula for Buccinum nitidulum auctorum and in 1844 attributed Buccinum nitidulum to Linnaeus. ICZN Article 49 prohibits use of such a misapplied specific name.
