References: Thompson (1977) s (of P. areolatus); Valdés & Héros (1998) T; Valdés et al. (2006) vNSEWM
Comments: Internal shell 6 mm (Vayssière 1897). Valdés et al. (2006) consider P. crossei to be an older name for P. atlanticus, but Rudman (2006) considered it a nomen dubium. The name P. atlanticus is retained here pending clarification.
