Neosimnia spelta capitiaCate, 1973, p. 91, fig. 206 [Synonym] Type Locality: Off Sombrero Island, West Indies [in error, Eastern Atlantic] Range: 24.6°N ; 81°W Depth: 128 m Maximum Reported Size: 8.8 mm References: Cate (1973) DdNSEWM Comments: Cate named Neosimnia spelta capitia as a Western Atlantic subspecies of the Eastern Atlantic N. spelta. The holotype was supposedly collected off Sombrero Island in 1877-78. As no more specimens have been found, the type locality is regarded as erroneous and Cate's taxon is relegated to the synonymy of N. spelta.
