Type Locality: Valparaiso
Maximum Reported Size: 12 mm
Comments: Records from Rio de Janeiro are based on Columbella castanea, a synonym with erroneous locality data; Radwin's (1977a) records from southern Argentina are based on inference from Strebel (1905), who says 'Südspitze von Südamerika'. Forcelli (2000) also reports the species in the Atlantic, but does not give specific localities.
