Altena's (1975) record from Surinam is based on Wells & Wells (1962), who misidentified A. canaliculata according to Mikkelsen & Mikkelsen (1984); Robinson & Montoya's (1987) record from Costa Rica was identified based on the figures in Abbott (1974), which were copied from Wells & Wells.
