References: Alf & Kreipl (2003) sM
Comments: Turbo moltkianus was formerly considered to be an Eastern Pacific species, but Keen (1958:261) noted that it might be a Caribbean form and not include it in the Eastern Pacific fauna. Alf & Kreipl (2003) call it a form of T. castanea, but synonymize T. tuberculata (Roding, 1798), which is based on the same Chemnitz figure, with the Eastern Pacific T. squamiger Reeve, 1843.

References: Rosenberg (herein, 3 Nov 2003) s
Comments: Alf & Kreipl (2003:68) synonymized this with the Eastern Pacific T. squamiger Reeve, 1843, but it is an objective synonym of T. moltkianus Gmelin, 1791, which they consider a form of T. castanea. Röding cited Gmelin's name, and the same Chemnitz figures.
