Comments: Also described by Sowerby II (1870b: 250), with different wording and illustration, but apparently based on the same specimen in Museum Leckenby, with locality changed from Australia to Brazil. Sowerby (1870b) noted that it was the third species of this genus, with the other two being S. norrisii and S. cumingii. Sowerby (1870a) treated the same three names. so his description in 1870b is considered a subsequent citation, not a synonymous homonym.
