Comments: Rejected as a secondary homonym of Buccinum cinereum Born, 1778 by Gould (1841), but Lamarck (1822:290) had placed that species in Terebra, so secondary homonymy did not exist at the time. Also, Gould's substitute name, plicosum is not in use, so cinerea can be maintained (ICZN Article 59.3).
