Fusus aethiops Röding, 1798, p. 120, Not figured
[Not available]
Type Locality: Not stated
Comments: Nude name; based on "Gmel. Murex morio sp. 62. var.", but with no description or indication; "der ungekerbte Mohr" is a common name. Röding gave exactly the same citation for his Fusus deplanatus (which did have a short description), which prevents inference that he intended Fusus aethiops for Gmelin's var. beta of Murex morio.
