Fusus eucosmiusDall, 1889a, p. 167, pl. 35, fig. 5 [Synonym] Type Locality: USFC sta. 2317, off Key West, 45 fms. [24°25'45"N, 81°46'45"W], [by lectotype designation of Hadorn & Rogers (2000)] Range: 29.63°N to 24.43°N; 96.67°W to 81.78°W Depth: 27 to 162 m Maximum Reported Size: 86 mm Distribution: USA: Florida: East Florida, West Florida, Florida Keys, West of Dry Tortugas; USA: Texas References: Dall (1889a) dSE; Springer & Bullis (1956) NW; Lyons (1978b) DM; Hadorn & Rogers (2000) s Comments: See also eucosmius auct. = stegeri (syntype from USFC sta. 2402). Dall (1889) stated that his specimens from Cuba and Barbados (Blake sta. 11 and 290) were young and imperfect, hence these records need confirmation. The record from Surinam by Altena (1975) is too large (116 mm) for F. eucosmius and is probably F. benjamini.
