Comments: Not a replacement name for Narica sulcata d'Orbigny, 1842 (which is a Vanikoro); Fischer cited only d'Orbigny's fig. 28, not figs. 26-27. Possibly conspecific with the Eastern Atlantic Fossarus ambiguus (Linnaeus, 1767) according to Houbrick (1990).
