Distribution: USA: Florida: East Florida, Florida Keys; Mexico: Quintana Roo; ABC Islands: Curacao, Bonaire; Venezuela: unlocalized; Bermuda, Bahamas: New Providence; Cuba: North Havana Province, Holguin; Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico; Virgin Islands: St. Croix; St. Martin/St. Maarten, Guadeloupe, Marie Galante, Martinique; St. Vincent & the Grenadines: The Grenadines

Comments: 25°N in Florida. Moolenbeek & Faber (1989a) regarded Quinn (1979) to have designated a lectotype by inference of holotype, but this is not the case, since the original description shows that Dall had more than one specimen (he cited several localities) (ICZN Article 74.6). The lectotype designation must therefore be attributed to Moolenbeek & Faber (1989a).
