Comments: Misidentification. Seguenzia monocingulata is a fossil from Italy (Quinn 1983); the Recent European species is S. formosa. Gulf of Mexico records of S. monocingulata can be attributed to S. hapala. New England records may be S. nitida. The status of records from the Gulf of Maine, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Brazil is unknown.
