Fusus ceramidusDall, 1889a, p. 171, [Dall 1890, pl. 6, fig. 6] [Basis of the current name] Type Locality: Blake sta. 290, off Barbados, 73 fms. [by lectotype designation of Hadorn & Rogers (2000)] Range: 13.2°N to 9.5°N; 83°W to 59.61°W Depth: 90 to 412 m (live 175 to 225 m) Maximum Reported Size: 51 mm Distribution: Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Barbados References: Dall (1889a) NE{S}; Sander & Lalli (1982) {D}Ll; Snyder (1984) {W}; Sunderland & Sunderland (1995c) {M}; Hadorn & Rogers (2000) DSWT{d}; Lyons & Snyder (2008) cdM Comments: Lyons & Snyder (2008) reclassified records from Bermuda as Lightbournus russjenseni. Lyons & Snyder (2008) considered Abbott & Dance (1982) to have designated a lectotype for Fusus ceramidus by inference of holotype, but Dall (1889a) cited several localities. As the original description was based on more than one specimen, the action by Abbott & Dance does not constitute a lectotype designation (ICZN Article 74.6). Hadorn & Rogers (2000) designated the same specimen as lectotype. Combining Genera: Fusinus Latirus
